How robust is a Vestige watch?

Our watches are designed to be worn everyday. However, activities that involve very strong vibrations and repeated impacts should be avoided when wearing a Vestige watch. Repeated sharp impacts can have a negative effect on the watch movement or cause permanent damage.

What if condensation appears under the glass lens?

If your watch experiences a sudden change in temperature or pressure, slight condensation may appear under the sapphire lens. This mist should disappear by itself if the watch is left to sit in a cool, dry place for several hours and there should be no adverse effect on the watch’s function. If condensation persists, please contact us.

How water resistant is a Vestige watch?

The water resistance of a Vestige watch is always stated in atmospheric bars (ATM) on the case back of the watch. This rating is a measure of static pressure that the watch is able to withstand. This does not directly translate to water resistance at a certain depth (i.e. 100 metres) below sea level, which is used elsewhere in the watch industry for dive watch ratings.

ATM water resistance is purely a measure of resistance to pressure (i.e. how well the watch unit is sealed) and does not take into account the presence of moisture or water or the activity or environment the watch is being used in, which could affect and exceed the rated ATM value.

Please note that the water resistance of any watch is not a permanent characteristic. Seals and sealing systems, in particular, are subject to wear and tear and natural ageing.

However, to ensure that your leather strap remains in good condition, we recommend that you avoid contact with water or exposure to high levels of humidity, which can cause the leather to become misshapen or discoloured.

Do you sell straps in different sizes?

Vestige’s straps are designed to fit a wide range of men’s and women’s wrists. Depending on the watch model, our watches will fit wrists with a circumference of approximately 15–21cm.

What is the length of battery life?

The expected life length of the battery is around 5 years depending on external conditions such as temperature and humidity. The battery is a silver oxide cell battery (standard button cell).

If your watch is new and the watch movement is not functioning, try setting the time to 12:00 sharp and press the crown all the way into the case. Wait 15 minutes and check if the minute hand has moved.

How do I service my watch, e.g. if I need to change batteries?

Our batteries normally last for around 5 years. If you need to replace the battery simply visit your local watch shop. In most instances, this can be done while you wait. If you’re experiencing problems with your watch, please contact customer support at and clearly describe your issue. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I care for my calf leather strap?

Vestige genuine leather straps are made from soft, aniline calf leather. Over time and with wear, they will develop an inherent natural patina, including marks and stains, that improves with age.

Our leathers have been chosen for their natural character, which means they may display some scarring or marks. Please note that leather is a natural, porous material so contact with water or solvents should be avoided.

Leather wristbands are not suitable to wash with water and soap as it will make the leather dry. If you want to clean your leather wristband, your local watchmaker or store may have cleaning products specifically made for leather. We would recommend you to consult a watch maker to be sure that you do it correctly.

How do I change the strap on my watch?

Changing your watch strap is a quick and easy process that can be undertaken by any watch workshop or jeweller in your area. In most instances, this can be done while you wait.

Your Vestige watch comes with a curved strap end and curved spring bar. Replacement leather straps are available at our website and are guaranteed to fit your watch.
